Night of the Arts
February 13th 6pm-7:30pm
Registration Deadline 1/29
On February 13th from 6pm-7:30pm (snow date February 15th) Fountaindale is planning to have Night of the Arts, a unique experience for adults AND K-5 students alike, based around the book Happy Dreamer by Peter H. Reynolds.
What is Night of the Arts?
Adults and K-5 students will participate together in either Art, Music, Drama, Digital Media, or Dance. You will learn about the art form you choose from an expert in the field, and then collaborate with other participants to create a product within that art form. No previous experience is necessary!
The main objective of this event is to learn more about an art form and work together as a group to create a product; where all voices are heard and valued as participants. For planning purposes and to be respectful to session hosts, please take special considerations when planning your committed attendance. The sessions will be designed for K-5 students and adults so last consider alternatives for younger children. We hope to make this experience a fun, relaxing time for all attending participants.
How it works:
Fountaindale Career Fair
Presenter Deadline 2/2
Fountaindale needs your help to make the Career Fair a success! Guidance lessons leading to the Career Fair will focus on skills and knowledge that students need in school, as well as in the work field. The Career Fair is a fantastic way to provide students with first-hand knowledge of potential career paths.
The Fountaindale Career Fair will be held on Aprils 6th in the Fountaindale cafeteria from 8:45am until 10:15am.
Presenters will set up in the cafeteria at 8:30am. Grade levels will visit the Career Fair in 15 minute intervals. Students will be assigned 3 careers of their choice to visit, which will be broken into 5 minute rotations. Key discussion points during the Career Fair include a short summary of related school subjects, education/training, job duties, and responsibilities for a typical day on the job. You may also bring equipment, posters, or anything you feel will help with explaining your career to students. You will each have a portion of a cafeteria table to display your equipment.
Please complete and return the form recently sent home with students by February 2nd. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Regan Hott. She can also be reached at 301-766-8160.

We're now up to 119 Fountaindale Shoparoo-ers! We are moving along! We’re now up to $126.53. Awesome! Keep snapping!
How do You Shoparoo?
If you're not a Fountaindale Shoparoo-er yet, what are you waiting for? It's so simple & absolutely FREE!
Three Easy Steps:
See? Easy peasy! Spread the word because the more Shoparoo-ers we have, the more money we can earn! Tell parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, etc. because they don't have to live here to help, they can live across the country or even across the world!
Which receipts count?
For Roo Points:
Snap pictures of your receipts from any store, big or small, that primarily sells food, health items, beauty items, and/or pet items to earn Roo Points (cash donations) for the Fountaindale PTA.
Snap pictures of all your other receipts, like restaurants and clothing stores, to earn entries for your school into Shoparoo's $1,000 monthly sweepstakes and $15,000 yearly sweepstakes! Each receipt counts as an entry into both monthly and yearly sweepstakes, so spread the word at your school - the more receipts you submit, the greater your school's chance is of winning.
For more information, please visit the Shoparoo FAQ.

KINDNESS ROCK GARDEN COMING!
The planning for the Kindness Rock Garden is underway!
The Kindness Rock Project was designed to help our communities spread kindness, joy, encouragement, inspiration and support for one another.
We see far too much negativity in the world these days.
The project is all about creating an outlet for all of us to be kind to others.
We have all of the Kindness Rocks have have been created so far and plan to have a big placing party in the Spring when we build the Kindness Garden!
Would your company or business be interested in helping our Kindness Rock Garden happen?
